Hosakote: The building of the K. M. Fareed Institute of Islamic Studies was inaugurated here within the premises of the Al-Ameen Residential School (ARS), 30 kms east of Bengaluru in the second week of December. The Institute is situated beneath the Masjid e Mumtaz in the sprawling campus. According to Syed Zameer Pasha, Director of the ARS Campus, the institute is affiliated to the Tumkur University. Currently four students are doing their Ph.D. at the institute. Historian Prof. Sheik Ali is the Chairman of the Fareed Institute.
